Description
The Logistics Leader is responsible for shaping and guiding the strategy for domestic and international shipping operations across four U.S.-based manufacturing facilities. This role oversees the end-to-end flow of inbound and outbound products to global markets, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. The position drives logistics innovation, promotes cross-functional collaboration, and enhances capabilities to meet evolving customer and market demands.
Here'S What You'Ll Do
- Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks, and interactions with others.
- Create scalable logistics frameworks that optimize cost, service, and speed across domestic and international shipping channels.
- Drive on-time metrics to match Customer expectations, from inventory to Carrier pickup/delivery metrics, carrier compliance, portal management, and routing expectations across the sites.
- Drive the adoption of advanced logistics technologies, automation, and data-driven decision-making to improve efficiency and visibility.
- Partner with manufacturing, sales, customer service, capacity planning, and IT teams to ensure logistics strategies support broader business goals.
- Guide key projects such as carrier optimization, warehouse network design, and international compliance enhancements.
- Provide strategic oversight of the company's container logistics business, ensuring efficient coordination, cost control, and compliance with international shipping standards.
- Oversee export shipments, ensure compliance with destination regulations and customer requirements, and customs documentation in alignment with current regulatory standards.
- Stay current with domestic and international shipping regulations, including customs, export controls, and sustainability standards.
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the Operations team in shared goals and initiatives.

This position is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on-site at our office located at 1719 Elizabeth Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. The remaining workdays can be completed remotely, providing a flexible balance between in-office collaboration and remote work convenience. Candidates should be within commuting distance of our Grand Rapids location.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive logistics leadership experience in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment
- Proven success in strategic planning across multi-site operations
- Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations and practices
- Experience with logistics technologies (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems)
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and change management skills
- Experience overseeing export operations and ensuring international compliance.
