The Marine Commercial Manager is instrumental in APAC Procurement for facilitating the efficient delivery of offshore wind projects by governing all commercial aspects related to marine operations. This includes contracting strategies, supplier negotiations, risk management, and cost control for marine logistics, installation vessels, and port services. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders (construction, service, engineering, project management, legal, HSE) and external partners to ensure optimal commercial outcomes aligned with project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

Marine Contracting & Procurement

  • Develop and execute marine contracting strategies for installation vessels, crew transfer vessels (CTVs), service operation vessels (SOVs), and port services.
  • Manage tendering, negotiation, and award of marine-related contracts in compliance with company policies and project requirements.
  • Manage contract lifecycle including variations, claims, and close-out.

Commercial Management

  • Monitor and control marine-related budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with marine operations.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives and value engineering.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with construction, service, project teams, engineering, logistics, and legal departments to align marine commercial strategies with technical and operational needs.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key marine suppliers and industry stakeholders.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track market trends, vessel availability, and regulatory developments in offshore marine logistics.
  • Provide strategic input into vessel sourcing and port infrastructure planning.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure marine contracts comply with local and international maritime regulations.
  • Uphold ethical procurement practices and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in marine logistics, offshore wind, oil & gas, or maritime operations.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management and contract negotiation.
  • Extensive understanding of offshore wind marine operations and vessel types.
  • Proficient analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Competencies

  • Experience working in a global matrix organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex interfaces.
  • Motivated, solution-oriented mindset with profound commercial acumen.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
