Operational Excellence Specialist 2
Operational excellence enables to develop Self-Directed Operating Teams to take over increasing ownership for the outcomes Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash, Motivation, Sustainability in PH-PS (100% Ownership and 0 loss mindset), thereby bringing added value to the customer in higher service levels, lower costs, higher quality by more stable and reliable processes. At PH-PS, we implement OE through the Product Supply System (PSS) which drives DSO in operations. The OE team together with all other clusters drives the development an implementation of PSS and with that continuous improvement to serve product needs.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Operational Excellence Specialist 2
- Show and live a culture of ownership and accountability through VACC Leadership, implementing PSS as a key enabler for operational excellence across the whole site through driving transformation projects, promoting exchanges of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Co-Lead a PSS Pillar, defining capabilities needed to achieve short-term, mid-term, and long-term outcomes in alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Support site in achieving financial targets through benchmarking, methods and standards co-creation through Pillar structure according to DSO principles;
- Facilitate data-driven decision-making to focus on outcomes by selecting/developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and supporting the site strategy process (incl. product targets) to ensure alignment across all levels by acting, learning fast and evolving;
- Support the site strategy process to ensure delivery on outcomes, enable its deployment, and support the capability clusters on-site to break down to all levels to allow all of us to bring our best selves (e.g., with PDCA);
- Co-create standardized processes that enhance efficiency and consistency, collaborating with capability clusters and product teams to tailor PSS standards to meet operational, product and customer needs;
- Take ownership and responsability to deliver on business targets;
- Co-create transparency and improvement opportunities by collaborating with sites, product teams and capability clusters to implement sustainable solutions, including digital enablers, to enhance efficiencies and customer value;
- Actively engage with stakeholders to establish and achieve financial targets through development, deployment, and tactical drive & execution of Operational Excellence (OE) tools and Lean / Six Sigma methodologies in harmony with evolving PSS toolkit (ie: including, but not limited to, loss/waste analysis, SMED, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, PDCA, Process Mapping, time and motion studies, problem solving, DMAIC, etc.);
- Leverage the network to accelerate business results by facilitating knowledge exchange and collaborate within the OE community, incl. digital solutions exchange;
- Facilitating / coordinating Capability Gembas by being our best selves and including others;
- Co-create and facilitate PSS/DSO-related training and workshops, ensuring effective talent flow and development of pillar content focused on achieving business outcomes while gathering feedback to enhance training effectiveness;
- Serve as Operational Excellence member of or key contact for Site Leadership team, as site demands and consistent with site clustercapabilities and requirements;
- Work in collaboration with other OE Cluster members at the site to guide and coach as needed, and to help better inform the allocation of resources across the site to ensure the needs with the largest business impact are met;
- Perform other duties/ activities as required to support site and network demand for OE capabilities and/or capacity.
Who You Are
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in engineering, science, pharmacy, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience in lieu of an educational degree;
- Experience in and/or supporting production/operations, operational excellence, and/or technical functions inlarge organizations with continuous and sound knowledge of improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma;
- Ability to explain and embody Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach leadership behaviors, and teach others;
- Demonstrate authentic self-awareness, proactively seek and provide constructive feedback, and stay in tune with business andexternal trends;
- Focus on defining and delivering impactful team, talent, and organizational outcomes, collaborating with accountability, and co-creating customer solutions;
- Operate in 90-day cycles, adapt quickly, continuously improve skills, and create impact by realizing authentic self and purpose,while respecting differences and embracing inclusion;
- Appropriately assign individuals with necessary abilities to customer, product, and design teams, and demonstrate excellentproblem-solving and business acumen skills;
- Lead with a forward-thinking approach, resolve conflicts in line with Bayer's objectives, and empower teams to succeed.
- Willingness to take calculated risks and embrace bold decision-making;
- Skilled communicator with proficiency in English language, capable of connecting with diverse individuals, actively listening to their needs, and supporting meaningful analysis for better decision-making;
- Limited travel required; Flexibility to adjust work schedule to attend meetings outside of standard work hours preferred .
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $106,747 - $160,120. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
