What To Expect:
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic contract Welding Instructors to join our team at both our Milton, ON and Nisku, AB training facilities. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction across a range of welding topics, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The ideal candidate will bring a solid technical foundation in welding and a passion for education, helping to prepare students for successful careers in the skilled trades.
We are currently seeking instructors with the availability to teach evening classes, 5pm-9pm.
The instructor will be responsible for teaching a variety of welding programs, including structural steel welding, pressure welding, youth-focused training, and courses that explore emerging and innovative welding technologies. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, as well as staying current with industry practices and standards. Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in student success are essential, along with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
This Includes:
Training Delivery
- Delivers practical skills upgrading and theory training on a variety of welding related subjects
- Strives to continuously improve the quality of CWB in-class education
Support Functions
- Influences the customer’s perception of the client value proposition through effective training session delivery
- Prepares communications to ensure prompt service and foster the customer relationship including the follow-up on the seminar evaluation forms and client requests
- Responds promptly to customer requests for information about training products, taking ownership for getting things done
Other duties as assigned
In this position, you will report to the Education and Training Supervisor and will work out of their home office in Canada. CWB has adopted a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. We are embracing radical flexibility, where employees are encouraged to work a schedule that works best for them, their team, and their clients.
What you bring to the table:
- Completed 2-3 year course in Welding Technician/Technologist Program or completion of apprenticeship/ red seal
- Relevant CWB 47.1 certification
- 5 years relevant teaching experience
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the CWB’s policies and procedures
- Experience training learners in both a classroom environment and/or a one-on-one basis an asset
- CSA W178.2, Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations and develop educational materials
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster customer relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Additional Requirements
- Working out of the CWB Group Milton, Ontario or Nisku, AB facility
- Travel may be required for additional training or custom training opportunities as they arise
The following qualifications are considered assets:
- Bilingualism in French and English
- Formal Teaching certification
- Experience training learners in both a classroom environment and/or a one-on-one basis
- CSA W178.2, Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3
