About Our Role

We currently have an opportunity for an International Logistics Team Lead Imports to join our team in a permanent full-time role, based at our Chifley Park office. Reporting to the Senior Manager International Logistics, this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Imports team, ensuring the seamless coordination of international shipments and compliance with regulatory and business requirements. The role will manage the end-to-end logistics process for import shipments, including selecting transportation methods and managing schedules to meet RIS timelines. 

What You Will Do

• Oversee daily import operations, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all documentation and compliance with customs regulations, FICA requirements, and internal policies.
• Monitor shipment status, proactively manage delays or disruptions, and communicate logistics challenges to business stakeholders.
• Liaise with freight forwarders to resolve compliance issues and stay informed of regulatory changes.
• Support logistics requirements for capital works programs, engineering spare parts, and sample requests.
• Manage rate quotations, supplier invoicing, and escalated service issues requiring urgent intervention.
• Lead supplier performance management through regular meetings, sharing forecasts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, providing feedback and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Supervise and mentor import coordinators, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate training programs to build team capability.
• Foster a high-performing team culture focused on continuous learning, compliance, and professional development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and align with best practices across APAC markets.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in international logistics, transport, and warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of customs compliance, DAFF requirements, and international shipping regulations.
• Proven experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and shipping lines.
• Project management capability, including budgeting and cost analysis.
• High level of computer literacy across MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems such as Sage or SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and remain calm under pressure.
• Experience collaborating with cross-country teams and building strong internal and external relationships.
• Familiarity with capital works equipment and logistics support.
• Commitment to achieving daily goals with flexibility and a proactive approach.
