Summary
Responsible for pack out and/or pour end organization and work order closure. This will include but not limited to training, achieving efficiency standards, insuring a quality product is produced, organizing pack out and pour end layouts, closing out work orders, evaluation of non-conforming products, and achieving scheduled completion dates.
Role And Responsibilities
- Support Production Assistants with organization and evaluation of pack out layouts. Work to document and develop layouts that focus on safe working areas while limiting manpower requirements.
- Oversee the small tools Kanban set up with Label department. Ensure that all small tool ordering is completed in time for production use.
- Work with maintenance to ensure all pack out and pour end machines and operations are set up properly prior to production.
- Assist logistics team to organize the delivery of materials to the production lines. Verify that materials have been transferred and counted prior to use on the lines.
- Oversee the label department operations which include cycle counting, count and returns, and bin transfers.
- Partner with Production Assistants and Team Leaders to count return to stock materials, ensure proper identifications have been completed, and that all count and return tags have been filled out properly.
- Assess all scrap from production runs to ensure scrap reporting and identification has been completed per Alene standards.
- Evaluate all non-conforming materials to ensure that proper identification has been completed and that all materials are transferred and updated on the Work Order closure report.
- Responsible for the evaluation of work orders at the completion of the pack out process. Collect all documentation needed to provide feedback on work order closure to allow for work order completion.
- Support the Supervisor in oversight of teams of employee’s in a process environment with respect to candles and home fragrance products.
- Work with planning, purchasing, and program management as directed by supervision to understand upcoming work. Support process identification needs, and staffing needs as well as resource loading.
- Will be expected to be a team member of the supervisory and management staff; chairing meetings, offering opinions, supporting initiatives, and treating co-workers with mutual respect.
- Promote a safe work environment by communicating safety requirements, auditing, tracking, providing feedback and corrective actions to employees and management.
- May support the skills assessments of employee’s and coordinate training to promote learning and address gaps in capabilities as defined by supervision. Cross training will be key component.
- Will collect data, maintain metrics, monitor trends, report to supervision on the health and well-being of manufacturing
- Work with the production departments as well as wax department to insure smooth startups and shut downs.
- Will support carry over meetings/ email between shifts to ensure critical and pertinent information is passed between shifts.
- Responsible for communicating equipment issues to maintenance and supervision. May monitor timely completions of repairs and improvements.
- Performs activities of workers to assist or relieve on an individual basis to avoid shutdown.
- Ability to run as the following: Zone 3 owner, Team Lead, Label Clerk.
- Ability to read / understand MAP as well as deviations if necessary.
- Responsible for following 5S guidelines and continuous improvement activities on their respective lines and will provide support for department and site 5S and continuous improvement efforts.
- Use of all hand tools and the ability to utilize hand jack when necessary.
- Knowledge of wax types & characteristics
- Compliance with all safety regulations and quality control methods while reporting all unsafe work areas.
- Required & expected to work different areas, including the line, as directed by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensures that label department and production are organized and aligned to meet production daily goals.
- Sets the example for respectful leadership and cooperation and assists in motivating employees to achieve work goals.
Education Required
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Range Of Experience:
- 2-3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective verbal & written communication skills to deliver valuable teamwork (must understand English language)
- Must be able to identify all items and count accurately using various methods of calculation
- Knowledge of the products manufactured in the factory
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to understand quality control methods
- Ability to use various machines and practical skills
- Able to follow and execute instructions
- Ability to lead small groups to meet production goals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Accurate, patient, careful, responsible, and quick and alert.
