Job Title: Packager

Hours: 6AM - 2:30PM

Immediate Supervisor: Packaging Supervisor

Summary: The Packager performs cheese packaging tasks required to package cheese per company specifications and customer standards. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Ensures consistent product quality.
• Inspect all equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Follow operational procedures and complete the required paperwork.
• Complete all jobs as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), quality procedures and sanitation processes at all times.
• Ensure accurate product counts on production runs are recorded accurately. 
• Report any equipment product defects or equipment malfunctions you may observe to a Lead or Supervisor 
• Report any non-compliant, defective, or sub-standard product immediately to Lead, Quality or Supervisor.
• Assist in any other areas of the manufacturing plant when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience.
• Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Must be able to verbally communicate and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends when needed.
• Must be a team player and capable of working directly with others.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.  The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis.  The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up a pallet up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. Requires visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech.  There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.   There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electricity, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
