We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Operations Manager with a strong electrical and industrial manufacturing background to lead our plant operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of electrical systems, assemblies, and manufacturing processes, combined with hands-on leadership to drive safety, quality, and production performance in a high-volume environment.
This role is pivotal in aligning electrical manufacturing operations with company objectives while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations, including electrical assembly, panel wiring, testing, and heavy manufacturing.
- Ensure production schedules and project timelines are met while maintaining compliance with electrical codes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Lead and mentor electrical and mechanical production teams, including shift supervisors, leads, and hourly staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve production efficiency, first-pass yield, and equipment uptime.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams on design-for-manufacturing initiatives and electrical specification alignment.
- Drive lean manufacturing and 5S principles, focusing on reducing waste and increasing operational throughput.
- Support preventive maintenance programs, ensuring uptime of electrical test stations, tools, and production equipment.
- Participate in strategic planning, capacity analysis, budgeting, and operational forecasting.
Profesional Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in operations or production management within electrical manufacturing, power distribution, control panels, switchgear, or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, panel layout, component specification, UL standards, and related industry codes.
- Proven leadership in supervising teams in union or non-union environments.
- Demonstrated success managing production processes involving wiring, harnessing, electrical testing, or integration.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies (certification preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field preferred
