Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Domestic Theatrical Finance is responsible for forecasting, reporting and analyzing P&L and Cash Flow. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this individual must have the ability to identify, understand, and communicate key revenue and cost drivers to management team.   This individual will also be expected to support and manage budgets on overhead and distribution spending; and ensure marketing and distribution operations are complying with corporate policies (e.g. T&E expenses). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a self-motivator for driving change to existing processes for greater efficiency, and be a team player and able to effectively work across all levels of the organization. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting, reporting and analyzing domestic theatrical weekly, quarterly and annual income statement & cash flow
  • Prepare roll forward analysis and variance explanations for both P&L and Cash
  • Analyze and prepare pre-release case scenarios for domestic theatrical releases
  • Assist in providing greenlight numbers for revenue and other cost line items
  • Manage overhead spend and perform variance analysis monthly
  • Oversee headcount reconciliation report and variance analysis monthly
  • Participate in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan
  • Collaborate with FP&A team and controllership to close the financial quarter and fiscal year for Domestic Theatrical
  • Leverage Power BI and MS Co-Pilot to provide better analytical and visual tools for Finance and Senior Leadership
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree (BA,BS) from an accredited college or university in Finance or related field
  • Minimum 6+ years of finance experience
  • Exceptional forecasting, analytic and financial modeling skills
  • Solid understanding of financial statements
  • Outstanding computer skills including extensive experience with MS365 Applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Understanding of SAP & related financial systems
  • Superior strategic, financial and relationship skills
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
