Job Description

The GBS Controller is responsible for financial oversight, cost control and accurate allocation of costs across departments and service lines within the Global Business Services organization. This role ensures transparency of financial performance, manages the billing processes for internal clients and maintains a proper and efficient cost structure. 

Additionally, the Controller provides financial insights to support business decisions, explains variances and contributes to strategic planning and operational improvements.

  4. Business Partnering and Continuous Improvements
  • Monitor, control and analyse costs across departments, functions and projects within the GBS organization
  • Track and report operational efficiency metrics (e.g., cost per transaction, cost per service)
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and transparency of cost allocations in line with Group policies and service agreements
  • Maintain a robust cost and project structure
  • Provide variance analysis, explain deviations versus budget/forecast and prepare actionable recommendations
  • Support budgeting and forecasting process by providing reliable cost data and analysis
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial data and insights to support business cases and strategic initiatives
  • Manage invoicing processes for services delivered to internal clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to ensure alignment on cost structures and charging principles
  • Act as finance partner to operations, promoting cost transparency and supporting decision-making
  • Identify and support opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

5. Other Responsibilities

  • Act as a backup for selected approval processes, such as bank payments, vendor invoices or civil contracts
  • Support ad-hoc financial tasks and internal projects as required
  • Provide financial expertise in cross-functional initiatives beyond core controlling scope

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in controlling, financial analysis, accounting or a similar role
  • Experience with cost allocation, project controlling and management reporting is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong ownership and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Power BI and financial systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial topics to non-financial stakeholders
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • Comfortable taking initiative and driving improvements without close supervision
