As a Senior BI Developer, you will contribute on various projects while also supporting team through coaching using insurance data and business intelligence tools. You will be responsible for providing business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation a wide range of business intelligence solutions (including Semantic Layer, Cubes, Reports, Dashboards). You will also effectively communicate findings and recommendations to a business audience.
How You Will Create Impact
- Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of MicroStrategy's semantic layer.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing reports, dossiers, write-back dashboards, intelligent cubes, enterprise & level metrics, facts, attributes, filters, prompts, table aliases, hierarchies, transformations, and other schema objects.
- Debug, analyze, and resolve complex database and SQL issues to ensure optimal performance and stability.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis on SQL performance issues and data discrepancies.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical expertise to project teams.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in the BI tools, data warehousing and dimensional data modeling concepts (e.g., snowflake and star schemas).
- Experience with data integration, database design, and performance optimization, in both data and reporting/presentation layers.
- Deep understanding of the insurance domain (metrics, KPI, key insurance concept), business objectives, how your own tasks contribute to meeting the business objectives and how they are connected to enterprise goals.
- Autonomously and efficiently communicate findings to a business audience.

To Join Our Team
- You have 6-9 years of experience in Business Intelligence with Power BI and MicroStrategy experience or another related field.
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
- ACAS or FCAS designations are considered an asset.
- You have strong knowledge and understanding of: Data analysis, Programing/tools, Modelling techniques, Data warehouse/data management, Research, Architecture/design.
- You have experience solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and can provide clear recommendations for improvement.
- Experience with following technologies is required: Power BI and MicroStategy.
- Experience with following technologies is an asset: Databricks.
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
