Clinical Coordinator-Department of Medicine

Provides quality patient care by performing as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher in matters related to specialty area. Manages clinical activities, including case management, discharge, and patient education. May establish administrative policies and procedures for clinical practice. Supervises nurses clinical support staff.

Essential Functions

•  Works cooperatively within own department and with other services to create a system of quality health care delivery.
•  Maintains current knowledge in area(s) of clinical supervision.
• Manages department(s) with consideration for safety.
•  Participates in, and provides leadership for, development of policies-department of nursing and unit specific.
• Determines staffing requirements and communicates those as appropriate.
•  Interviews and hires all personnel in department(s).
•  Conducts meaningful appraisal of employees in an ongoing and timely manner.

Education And/Or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an Accredited institution
• Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• At least 3-5 years of clinical experience
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
