Your Role:
The Cell Therapy Account Director (CTAD) will be responsible for driving the commercial success of Miltenyi’s cutting-edge autologous CAR T cell therapy by cultivating and expanding relationships with Authorized Treatment Centers (ATCs) and community referrers. This individual will act as the primary field-based point of contact for targeted academic and community centers within the assigned territory and will play a critical role in facilitating patient access, enabling clinical adoption, and driving demand for Miltenyi's cell therapy platform. In addition to managing customer engagement and driving product utilization, the CTAD will lead cross-functional efforts to onboard, enable, and operationalize new treatment centers within their region. This highly visible role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational execution, and customer engagement, and will be instrumental in scaling Miltenyi’s CAR-T therapy while delivering a seamless, unified experience to customers.
Working cross-functionally with CAR T Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Business Excellence, and Marketing, the CTAD will develop and implement territory strategies that ensure successful customer engagement, education, and product utilization. This role is essential to ensuring that treatment centers are fully equipped and supported throughout the entire cell therapy patient journey - from referral to infusion.
This position will report to the VP, Cell Therapy Account Management.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Onboarding & Treatment Center Enablement
- Identify, target, and profile key treatment sites to inform the development of a structured onboarding program for CAR-T cell therapy.
- Operationalize Miltenyi’s streamlined, standardized onboarding model (aligned with the ASTCT 80/20 framework) that reflects existing CAR-T practices and minimizes burden on sites.
- Partner closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Cell Therapy Account Management, CAR-T Operations, Marketing, Medical, and home office teams to coordinate center onboarding efforts and ensure a unified customer experience across operational and commercial touchpoints.
- Lead the cross-functional effort to activate new sites within their region, including site qualification, contracting, training, and operational readiness assessment.
- In close collaboration with CAR-T Operations, guide the design and execution of apheresis site onboarding and qualification, ensuring GMP-compliant readiness while maintaining clarity around the company's role and responsibilities.
- Contribute to the continuous refinement of the onboarding process post-launch based on stakeholder feedback and system learnings.
Demand Generation
- Serve as the lead commercial representative at ATCs and affiliated referral networks.
- Generate demand by educating internal and external treating physicians on appropriate patient profiles and the clinical benefits of Miltenyi’s CAR T cell therapies.
- Execute daily field activities to achieve coverage and frequency goals while meeting or exceeding territory sales targets.
- Identify and map referral pathways in hematology/oncology networks to facilitate timely patient access to ATCs.
- Support clinical teams in differentiating Miltenyi’s cell therapy from alternative treatment options using approved promotional materials and training.
- Coordinate promotional initiatives such as speaker programs and professional society events to enhance visibility and peer engagement.
Account Engagement
- Develop and maintain deep, productive relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders at all levels across assigned ATCs.
- Partner with other field team members to build tailored account plans that support strategic growth of therapy adoption.
- Monitor account dynamics and communicate key insights to internal stakeholders for continuous improvement of strategy and support models.
- Act as the local expert on ATC operations, aligning internal resources to resolve issues and maintain seamless account support.
Patient Access and Reimbursement
- Collaborate with internal patient services teams to support referral offices and ATC staff through onboarding, insurance verification, and reimbursement resolution.
- Educate providers and office staff on Miltenyi’s patient services offerings, including case management, travel assistance, and coverage support.
- Ensure treatment centers are equipped with knowledge of payer requirements and reimbursement workflows.
CAR T Process Support
- Maintain visibility across the full patient journey, ensuring timely coordination and communication between ATCs, logistics, and patient support teams.
- Monitor and help manage treatment scheduling, apheresis preparation, and infusion planning.
- Coordinate with internal teams to proactively address any disruptions or delays in therapy administration.
Operational and Compliance Support
- Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance at ATCs, including REMS adherence, audits, and training.
- Support onboarding activities for new treatment centers as Miltenyi expands its ATC network.
- Operate in compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and company standards, including protection of patient health information (PHI).
Requirements:
- Master’s degree and 8+ years of experience or bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 12+ years of experience required; Minimum of (8) years’ experience in sales and/or account management within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in transplant, cell therapy, gene therapy, oncology or rare diseases; Or a combination for education and experience.
- Proven success in complex hospital or academic selling environments; experience in hematology/oncology or cell/gene therapy preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive product adoption and manage large, strategic accounts with multiple stakeholders.
- Previous experience supporting the launch of a novel therapy in a highly regulated, competitive market is a strong plus.
- Broader commercial experiences beyond account management (marketing, training, operations, market access, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of the relevant legal and compliance requirements, with proven ability to contribute to a strong culture of compliance and accountability.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Deep understanding of sales compliance (e.g., FDA, OIG, PhRMA guidelines).
- Deep understanding of oncology and/or cellular therapy treatment landscapes.
- Strong network in cell therapy or transplant sales/account management preferred.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to ensure execution in alignment with the integrated plans.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to build trust and credibility across functions and levels.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Proficient in CRM tools and data-driven territory planning.
- Strategic mindset with an execution-focused approach.

This job is performed in a variety of facilities. Each person performing this job must have a home office environment, which is temperature controlled. This job requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn.
The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between$155,200- $209,900, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
