We’re also very proud to publish the BBC Audio list where we commercialise curated collections of BBC Radio’s spoken word content. BBC Audio publishes a wide range of entertainment, with comedy series including Just a Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue; sci-fi and fantasy programmes such as Doctor Who, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The Lord of the Rings, and radio drama based on the works of writers including Agatha Christie, Patricia Highsmith, Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett, and Arthur Conan Doyle.
The Role
This is an exciting time to join a fast-paced team as our new Publishing Operations Executive. You’ll play a key role in bringing our audio publishing to market. You will work in collaboration with our Audio Editorial teams across the Penguin Random House and BBC lists to ensure publications follow the key critical paths, are produced to the highest quality, meet retailer specifications, and are delivered on time for publication.
You’ll also work closely with the Publishing Operations Assistant and Print divisions on title announcements across the list. You’ll also work with the Publishing Operations Manager and in house production team on maintaining quality and managing timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing production schedules
- Coordinating editing and mastering of audiobooks on the BBC list
- Quality control and post-production
- Audiobook distribution
- Retailer Support
What You’Ll Bring
Whilst we don’t require existing experience in publishing or audio (although an interest in it is important), you will need to demonstrate professional experience that evidences the following skillset:
Essential Criteria:
- You’ll have great attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You’ll be highly organised and efficient, with the ability to work autonomously using initiative as well as working effectively within a team
- You’ll have excellent prioritisation skills, being able to manage multiple work streams concurrently and keep on top of deadlines
- You will have a solution-orientated attitude to problem solving with a keen eye for spotting discrepancies

Salary
Up to £31,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person at our offices in Nine Elms at a minimum of once per week.
