Red Bull UK is currently recruiting for a Regulatory Specialist UK & Ireland to be based in London, UK.
The UK & IE Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports with regulatory compliance and regulatory policy matters in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This includes monitoring and implementing regulatory changes in the United Kingdom and Ireland, such as marketing, advertising, and labelling approvals and monitoring of regulatory developments that impact on our business. In addition, the role is responsible for supporting the United Kingdom Regulatory & Government Affairs Manager on regulatory and legislative changes that could impact on current or future Red Bull products and assets.
Job Description
Monitoring Of Developments
Monitoring and analysis of food, labelling, advertising, product & packaging, taxation, and related regulatory developments and issues with potential impact for Red Bull products and brand within the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Monitor and analyse trade policy developments by relevant United Kingdom Government Departments.
Monitor and reporting on the progress of relevant free trade agreements, ensuring coordination and timely reporting against FTA agreements.
Data
- Collation and analysis of data on strategic priorities, for example recycling and collection rates for beverage packaging, market data, or energy drink intake and consumption statistics.
- Monitoring, analysis, and update on Parliaments (including devolved nations) and institutions, for regulatory topics relevant to Red Bull’s strategic interests.
- Engagement with external advisors on trade policy, data, and sustainability related topics.
Support
Support to the United Kingdom & Ireland Regulatory and Government Affairs Manager in executing Red Bull’s advocacy activities in coordination with the Science, Regulatory and Government Affairs team.
Support in developing key messages and engagement plans for regulatory affairs engagement, including inter alia memorandums, messaging documents, briefings, policy submissions.
Where needed, organising and attending meetings with third parties to represent the company’s positions and interests and developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
Working with European Colleagues to brief, analyse, and prepare for any European wide regulatory developments impacting on Ireland, and where relevant the United Kingdom.
Qualifications
Political science and/or Law Degree from a recognized university, ideally post-graduate level. Advanced education in a government relations-related discipline (i.e. Law, Political Science, Public Affairs, International Relations).
Additional education in corporate communications, food science, or equivalent international experience is a plus.
Proven professional experience in a regulatory role, law firm, or public affairs/government relations agency, international corporation, or similar institution (food area is a plus).
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English with the ability to interact at high business and stakeholders’ level and under pressure. Ability to build trust and promote confidence both externally and internally.
Results driven self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a high importance, fast-paced dynamic regulatory environment. Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills as well as judgment.
Excellent knowledge of the political/legislative/regulatory environment for foods and or FMCG, including packaging and sustainability, in the United Kingdom.
Sound knowledge of UK food law, food law, science and sustainability trends and related topics.
Ability to create and deliver presentations and other educational tools.
Effective relationship building and collaboration skills.
Ability to prioritize dynamic workload and effectively meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Result-oriented and pro-active team-player with excellent interpersonal skills.
High resilience and high degree of flexibility, willingness and ready to travel on short notice.
