Youth and Family Support Specialist II

YOU Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth and Family Support Specialist II to provide in-home and community-based services to youth and families involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). This role is essential in promoting safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families facing complex challenges such as poverty, trauma, and behavioral health needs.
Pay: $25.25/hour

Responsibilities
- Deliver flexible, trauma-informed services in homes and community settings
- Support caregivers in building protective factors and preventing out-of-home placements
- Use Motivational Interviewing to engage families and promote retention
- Facilitate connections with kin and supportive social networks
- Assist youth in accessing education, employment, housing, and healthcare resources
- Provide opportunities for youth to engage in recreational and developmental activities
- Participate in ISP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in agency and state systems
- Communicate regularly with DCF case workers and supervisors
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field required plus 1–3 years of related experience; or 5+ years working with youth and families in child welfare or community-based settings
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid preferred
- Driver’s License: Standard Class C or D license required
- Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends
- Must pass CORI, SORI, driving record, and DCF background checks
- Familiarity with Massachusetts child welfare system preferred
