About Us

2Excel Engineering Ltd, part of the 2Excel Group, is a Part 145 Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) based at Lasham in Hampshire.  As a group, 2Excel provide innovative aerospace and aviation services operating across defence, security, critical national infrastructure, charter, engineering and disaster response. We save lives, clean seas, save trees and support Nationally-important services.  With specialist teams and unrivalled aerospace approvals, we design, build, test and operate aircraft to deliver mission-critical services and data-driven insights. At Lasham, we carry out heavy base maintenance on our own aircraft as well as for third parties.  Under our approvals we also have line stations to keep our contracted aircraft flying day to day.  Our success is built on the talent and experience of our exceptional people.

About The Role

We are seeking a General Manager to join 2Excel Engineering’s Management Board as leader of the Delivery Team and the Nominated Postholder for Maintenance.  Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the day-to-day management of base maintenance and line operations, with a reporting line to the Accountable Manager for the Nominated Postholder position(s), responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Part 145 regulations and MOE procedures.
  • Oversee base, line, and workshop maintenance functions.
  • Liaise with the Accountable Manager and regulatory bodies (e.g. UK CAA/EASA).
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Ensure corrective actions from compliance monitoring are implemented effectively.
  • Represent the organisation in audits, inspections, and industry forums.
  • Maintain robust workforce planning and resource allocation strategies.

About You

You’re likely to have spent much of your career to date within the aircraft maintenance industry, having held positions such as Licensed Engineer, Crew Chief and/or Check Manager to name a few.

You will be a strong leader, with previous people management experience and bring a leadership style that creates a high performing team.  You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of working at a senior management level within a maintenance organization.  You’ll be an excellent communicator with the confidence to engage, persuade and influence at all levels of our aviation organisation.  You will have excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload, working under your own initiative and with little guidance.

This is a CAA and EASA Nominated Postholder position, therefore you’ll probably already have experience of working at that level, or you’ve been deputising and you’re ready to take the next step. In order to fulfil this requirement, you’ll need to have at least 7 years’ relevant work experience along with a Part 66 License (B1 or B2), a relevant engineering degree or a maintenance technician qualification acceptable to the CAA. You’ll swiftly be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of our exposition and operational manuals and have an in depth understanding of maintenance methods and operational procedures.

In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK, hold a valid UK Driving Licence due to the travel requirements and obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC).

What You’Ll Get

  • Direct access to the CEO, Accountable Manager and senior leadership.
  • Influence across all departments and contractors.
  • Opportunities to shape policy and drive innovation.
  • A supportive team environment that values your expertise.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package which includes but not limited to 25 days of annual leave from day one which increases with length of service, flexible working arrangements, company pension, Group Life Insurance and private medical cover.

To Apply

If you’re passionate about maintenance, thrive on responsibility and want to be part of a company that values excellence and progress—apply now and help us soar even higher.

To apply, please upload an up to date CV. We would also like you to include a covering letter, telling us how you meet the requirements of the role.
