Your Role:
MilliporeSigma in Bellefonte, PA is hiring a Manufacturing Operator 1. In this role you will follow written and oral work instructions to manufacture and package products in your assigned work area. This position will include working in a laboratory setting where chemicals are used.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all established safety procedures.
- Follow written instructions (MPS/SOP/Shop Packets).
- Assist in disposal of nonconforming products by following procedures.
- Submit samples to appropriate department for testing. Perform in-process inspections as required.
- Follow procedures for generating or requesting product documentation.
- Follow inventory management procedures.
- Perform necessary transactions/documentation.
- Operate/maintain necessary related lab equipment and simple hand tools; including balances, vacuum pumps, ovens, glove boxes, etc.
Physical Attributes:
- Utilizing vision and hearing within normal limits
- Moving materials up to 25 lbs
- Bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and pulling low to moderate weight
- Performing repetitive hand and arm movements
- Wearing proper personal protective equipment including lab coats, glasses, gloves
- Using hands to grasp and manipulate objects and perform small, precise movements
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good communication and organizational skills
- 1+ year of work experience in an industrial setting
- 1+ year of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment
- Prior experience operating lab equipment such as: balances, labelers, vacuum pumps, ovens, evaporators, and glove boxes
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to work independently or in small groups
- Ability to write legibly
- Basic math skills
Pay Range for this position: $18.00 - $28.00/hour
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
