Job Description

The HR Benefits Specialist plays a key role in administering MasterBrand’s retirement, equity, deferred compensation, and executive benefit programs with a strong focus on operational excellence. While ensuring accurate processing and regulatory compliance, this role focuses on delivering a positive experience for associates and executives at each phase of the associate life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the company's 401(k) plan and retirement programs, including funding, audits, annual testing, regulatory filings, and process improvements.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvement opportunities by using the lean tools, technology, and workflow optimization to drive operational excellence across all programs to deliver a positive, cohesive associate experience.
  • Partner with external administrators to ensure timely and accurate benefit transactions, root cause and resolve data transmission issues, and review compliance and accuracy of all data and transactions.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR Technology, Legal, Finance, and HR leaders to support deferral, loan, equity processing, grant and vesting execution, regulatory filings, and executive perquisites.
  • Administer long-term incentives for executives, employees, and board members.
  • Support equity pool management, tax reporting, and stock ownership processes.
  • Manage nonqualified deferred compensation funding, distribution, wire requests, and payroll coordination, ensuring compliance with 409(a), SEC requirements, and internal controls.
  • Support and streamline data requests for proxy filings, audits, compliance requirements, and ad hoc requests.
  • Educate HR and associates regarding programs and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in executive compensation, benefits administration, or related areas
  • Strong technical skillset with experience in different systems including HR information systems (Workday preferred)
  • Strong skills across the Microsoft programs – especially Excel
  • Familiarity with equity compensation and deferred compensation regulations is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work on various projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on detail
  • Experience handling routine to complex inquiries
