Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Director to join our Affordability team.
About The Role
You will lead the strategy and execution of cross-functional affordability initiatives focused on special medical cost savings projects. You will bring proven experience in developing multi-year business strategies, analyzing opportunities, and driving execution across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. You will partner with senior leadership in a matrixed environment to deliver results. You will demonstrate intellectual curiosity, innovative thinking, and a commitment to continuously pushing boundaries to better serve our members. You will report into the Director, Affordability.
Work Location:
This is a hybrid role in our NYC office. You will work part of the time in the office and part of the time remote / work-from-home. #LI-Hybrid
Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business units to investigate, evaluate, and prioritize cross-functional cost-savings opportunities, while maintaining ownership of a multi-year prioritized pipeline.
- Design and implement innovative multi-year cost-savings strategies across multiple markets.
- Lead the planning, facilitation, and execution of cross-functional design-thinking sessions with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, serving as a thought partner to senior leadership in addressing highly complex cross-functional challenges.
- Develop and deliver executive-level presentations to communicate actionable insights and recommendations to senior leaders and business partners.
- Develop and grow direct reports, ensuring that colleagues are supported in professional development
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications
- 7+ years healthcare experience with past success driving large-scale cross functional initiatives
- 3+ years experience in management consulting with focus on healthcare strategy
- 4+ years of experience managing individual contributors
- Deep knowledge of payor industry operations with proven ability to build strategies and engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of driving initiatives from concept to execution and delivering measurable results.
- Advanced Excel and analytical expertise, including trending, financial modeling, and partnering with finance to guide cost-savings decisions.
- Ability to leverage data to identify opportunities, build business cases, drive prioritization, and influence outcomes in complex environments.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity.
- Demonstrated leadership, both as a manager and as a cross-functional collaborator in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, executive-ready insights.
