Financial Analyst I

This position will be hybrid out of the Springfield, IL office. It is not a remote position.

Horace Mann is a purpose-driven company that is passionate about educators. We are seeking a Financial Analyst who will prepare data filings for states and other interested parties utilizing both financial and non-financial measures.

• Interpret detailed instructions provided by external parties and draw relevant conclusions as requested
• Perform data trend analysis to validate accuracy of data
• Validate data against historical financial statements or other internal sources
• Identify data anomalies and facilitate internal conversations to investigate discrepancies
• Possess theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and analytical techniques
• Demonstrate process improvement mindset
• Exhibit ability to plan own work and respect deadlines
• Communicate and coordinate individual inputs to complete submissions timely and accurately
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of processes to ensure recurring tasks are completed timely

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business or related field.
• Prior professional experience in insurance or finance preferred, but not required.

Pay Range:

• $25.58 - $37.76 / hour

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
