Job Overview
The role of the IT Director is to ensure optimal performance of information technology systems and operations in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Director will provide technical expertise and guidance to IT staff on the operations and maintenance of local and wide area networks, client technologies, business applications, collaboration technologies including needs analysis, problem solving, and disaster recovery plans.
The IT Director will coordinate closely with the Sr. Director of Information Technology and the IT staff at headquarters to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions in line with the organization’s strategic vision.
The IT Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy, processes, and structure changes that will enable us to provide world class IT services to our end users globally. You will collaborate with the Sr. IT Director and other regional managers to ensure alignment and consistency of service delivery across all regions. You will leverage your strong technical background and ITIL expertise, as well as your exceptional leadership, communication, customer service, program management and problem-solving skills, to drive IT service excellence and innovation, inspiring and empowering your team to deliver outstanding results for our clients. You will oversee and coordinate the work of the IT service delivery teams, measure and report on the service performance and quality, manage the budget and resources, vendor management, and communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers. You will report directly to the Sr. IT Director and be accountable for the overall success of IT infrastructure, applications and other technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy
- Ensuring the smooth running of the IT operations in the field, including user support, IT systems, domain services, communications, and connectivity
- Monitoring upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
- Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
- Providing guidance and support to IT staff as they perform troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on the servers, PCs, and other devices
- Network configuration assessments, and implementing Hardware/software upgrades and improvements
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve collaboration technology issues related to Zoom, MS Teams and video conference equipment quickly and effectively
- Planning and executing technology projects and system implementations in the field in an organized and effective manner. Establishing project scopes, goals, timelines, resources, and deliverables that support business goals and tracking projects progress
- Assisting IT staff in planning and managing new office build outs, and office moves
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation within the IT service department
- Managing and developing the IT service process team, including hiring, training, coaching and performance evaluation
- Planning and developing IT budgets, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
- Working with IT staff on maintaining up-to-date documentation of IT infrastructure and equipment in each regional office
- Standardizing information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements
- Developing, and implementing new IT procedures in the field and reviewing and enhancing existing procedures
- Manage the installation, upgrades and configuration of fulfillment center's IT equipment hardware and software.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in a technical field and/or business required.
- 10+ years experience in a successful leadership role within a large-scale enterprise
- Demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a matrixed environment.
- Proven problem solving and negotiation skills in multi-party situations.
- Exceptional communication skills, executive presentation skills, relationship building skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in e-Commerce industry or IT leadership support for End User Service is preferred.
- Experience operating ITIL-based IT services or working on infrastructure workplace projects
- Proficiency in office automation programs and tools such as MS Office or Google Workspace
- Fluency in English communication skill is preferred
