This role requires a professional with solid legal expertise, negotiation skills, and the ability to balance operational execution with strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will bring experience in TELCO or technology industries and demonstrate the maturity to handle sensitive matters with urgency and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review of a wide range of contracts across corporate, SME, BPO, and retail clients.
  • Act as the primary contact with regulatory entities such as CRC and SIC, managing user complaints, cyber security cases, and rights of petition.
  • Handle urgent legal actions such as tutelas, ensuring high-quality responses even outside of standard office hours.
  • Provide guidance on compliance-sensitive matters in collaboration with the Compliance Officer.
  • Prepare and manage corporate documentation including board minutes, shareholder records, and other governance-related materials.
  • Advise internal stakeholders (commercial, operations, and leadership teams) on legal risks and opportunities, always ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with clients directly, ensuring a high level of service and building trust through effective communication and timely legal solutions.
  • Stay updated on telecommunications, technology, and international regulatory frameworks to strengthen the company’s legal strategy.

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in telecoms regulation, ideally gained in-house or with a reputable law firm or consultancy.
  • Proven expertise in cloud communications and numbering regulation, including VoIP and global SIP services.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with autonomy and strategic foresight, even in the absence of clear legal frameworks.
  • Experience of liaising directly with telecoms regulators and managing complex licensing processes.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, capable of delivering concise, clear and well-structured written guidance tailored to the audience, whether internal business teams, external counsel or regulators.
  • LATAM regulatory experience preferred; global exposure advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Unafraid to take the initiative, challenge existing practices and take ownership of outcomes from start to finish.
  • Legal degree or equivalent qualification required.
  • Experience in data protection laws would be a plus.
