Job Description
As an Automation Engineer I, you’ll join a dynamic team focused on designing and integrating instrumentation and control systems for cutting-edge facilities in biotech, pharmaceutical, and food & beverage sectors. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to grow within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
You’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers to support all phases of design—from concept through construction—while gaining hands-on experience with field surveys, technical documentation, and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and documentation of instrumentation and control systems.
- Support the development of P&IDs and AFNIDs, ensuring instrumentation accuracy and proper material selection.
- Generate specifications, data sheets, schematics, and plan drawings for control system fabrication and installation.
- Conduct field surveys and site investigations to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
- Participate in construction administration and respond to RFIs and submittals.
- Use AutoCAD and Revit to support 3D modeling and design documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering.
- 0–3 years of experience in instrumentation and controls, preferably in a design firm setting.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam registration or completion preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and instrumentation standards.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to perform basic design calculations under supervision.
- Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
- Interest in life sciences and advanced technology projects.
