WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Lead a team of mechanical and electrical designers supporting the nVent ERICO Lightning Protection, nVent ERICO Cadweld mold designs, and nVent ERIFLEX Flexibar and FleXbus platforms.
- Improve processes, tools and efficiency through continuous improvement projects. Strive to eliminate barriers to execution.
- Collaborate with Product Management to identify new opportunities and needs within the lightning protection, Flexibar, FleXbus, and Cadweld customized solutions spaces.
- Create technology/capability roadmaps to show a path to intersect product/sales roadmaps for priority growth areas.
- Maintain and support infrastructure to prioritize incoming work to ensure that the highest value requests are satisfied first. Identify the gap between and strategize on what can be accomplished and what should be accomplished.
- Establish metrics, report on progress and growth within the platforms to show value and set the stage for future investment.
- Establish annual performance objectives, manage and lead mid-year and annual reviews, create individual development plans, and provide and support growth opportunities for the team. Retrain, develop, and flex resources to help support new demand.
- Strategize to identify and implement efficiency improvements and staffing solutions to meet projected demand and grow the platform spaces.
You Have:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred)
Previous Experience With:
- Ideally 7+ years of industry experience, of which at least 2+ years in leading design teams focusing on engineering services
- Product and/or installation requirements from relevant codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, UL, National Electrical Code, IEC)
Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent in-person and virtual communication skills with direct reports, customers, engineers, internal colleagues and the leadership team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment in a self-directed manner
