The Job
As a Supplier Quality Manger, you’ll be part of our Global Supplier Quality team located in Vietnam. Responsible for the overall Supplier Quality performance & People Development in the country. Include all responsibilities/skills of Supplier Quality Engineer but working as a manager to develop and manage the resources in your team.
You’Ll Get To:
- Manage on New Supplier Selection SQA& SAE Audit and Annual SQA /Supplier Process Risk Audit includes:
- Manage On NPD (New Product Development) Qualification Process throughout APQP & PPAP (SPPAP In SBD) Entire Phase Gate, and Conduct NPD Pre-Shipment Inspection in your team that includes:
- Manage Problem Solving to lead best practice in your team and Drive Supplier Quality Performance Continuous Improvement includes:
- Assist and Drive LEAN manufacturing & 6 Sigma project to Better Supplier’s Capability & Capacity in the supplier side if needs
- Make and Lead Annual Supplier Training Plan Includes
- Allocate and best utilize your team resources include:
- Lead his/her team to fulfill regional goal and catch key issues from the company that you need to manage:
- Guide New Supplier Selection SQA and SAE audit, Review and approve the audit report before release
- Guide Supplier Process Risk Audit (or called as SPPAP Audit or Compliance Audit Process Audit) to the Stanley Black & Decker item be manufactured by the supplier. Follow up and review actions either with the supplier or buying location (division)
- Develop annual audit plan for his/her team and review with auditor to reach regional annual goal.
- Review audit report to provide necessary coach to certified auditor, review and maintain the database in the system
- Attend CTQ definition, Specification review, DFMEA, PFMEA, QCP etc. & Quality planning Documents (SPPAP) Preparation, and coach teammates and show best practice
- Attend Phase Gate Review Meeting & Co-work with Design Assurance Quality on Deign confirmation, MCB readiness & product validation
- Collect/review SPPAP & Inspection Report to provide necessary coach
- Audit/review / maintain all quality data & the report in system to ensure the data accuracy (For example, QM)
- Make sure to work out a be practical quality planning
- Lead onsite workshop On Root Cause Analysis (Finish bone, DOE, 8D/5Why)
- Coordinate with all stakeholders in DC/ Plant / Customer/ suppliers in global
- Call a Systematic Preventive Action Plan Deployment in Suppliers and peers
- Reduce Lead Time & Waste, MOQ reduction
- Capacity Improvement/ramp up production plan
- Increase A supplier rating & Reduce defects rate
- SPPAP & NPD Phase Gate refresh
- Quality Control & Risks Management & Mitigation
- Professional Problem Solving
- Change Request/ REA & 4M Change Management
- SBD New requirements Each Year
- Make sure teammates always focus on priorities
- Leverage the proactive time and reactive time and assess SQE onsite inspection & supplier self – inspection plan for pre-shipment inspection
- Focus team resource to top quality issues/top safety risks mitigation /top spend suppliers’ improvement
- Delicate the right skill quality staff on quality issue
- Spend time on your team to better them
- To Create a Friendly and Positive work Environment within team
- Co-work with cross functional teams (Engineering team, purchasing team, product & marketing etc)
- Lead the meeting in your team
- Review and maintain the quality database in the system
- Present to the leaders on the team performance and follow up action (Ops review)
- Join conference call arranged by manager/division when you invited
- Join meeting with purchase engineer/buyer/project engineers when you invited
- Co-work with Purchasing responsible (Purchasing Engineer or Buyer) on developing supplier.
- Co-work with Project Engineer to facility necessary quality concept/requirement in the supplier side. With regional quality manager’s dedication, SQ could involve new product development as short/ middle term support.
- Co-work with Test Lab to verify the product complied with product specification.
The Person

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering related, strong Technical Engineering background in production
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing or quality, 5 years of supplier quality management experience
- Familiar with common international certification (ISO9000, QS9000, TS16949, SA8000).
- Require Audit Skill to conduct SQA and SA to the supplier side
- Be able to Microsoft Office (Power BI, EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK, etc.,)
- Excellent Communication Skills with English Language Proficiency.
- Excellent Supplier Quality Management Tips & Problem-Solving Skill (PDCA, 5W, 8D, DMAIC, LEAN) with positive attitude
- Experience working with Global & Diverse team in different counites
- Good team player and good leadership, with good judgments and effective in working both within a team setting as well as independently
