The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $89,496.00 to $111,870.00. The range will vary if outside of this location.  Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary

The Associate Brand Manager will be responsible for assisting on the development and implementation of the strategic and tactical brand plans for Jameson Irish Whiskey.   

This role provides significant opportunity for leadership and ownership as the primary responsibilities will consist of general management, support of brand program creation, innovation, execution of key brand initiatives, coordinating / supporting brand content creation, supporting financial accountability and P&L analysis, and regular analysis of business performance.  This exciting role requires a dynamic Associate Brand Manager who has proven experience in managing brands and collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about the drinks industry. Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Keep a pulse on the state of the business across key performance trackers to provide the team with valuable insights and watchouts to inform execution.
  • Act as day-to-day support to Senior Brand Manager assisting in various brand deliverables: Brand Annual Operating Plan, P&L, trade engagement, owned platform support, A&P spend guidelines & internal engagement plan.
  • Support the development of brand’s long-term innovation plans with Innovation Hub along with execution (launch, content & budget planning).
  • Support Jameson’s commercial execution across On & Off- Premise alongside Channel Trade Marketing team.
  • Support Senior Brand Manager in the development of national programs/strategies with flexibility and local adaptation in mind; deliver brand digital strategy/media engagement plans.
  • Support the Creative Content Manager in coordinating the creation of brand assets for always-on and key campaign periods.
  • Support financial accountability and P&L analysis through management of vendor purchase orders and A&P budget tracking.
  • Support the development and execution of Jameson’s multi-cultural & inclusion strategy.
  • Always-on tracking of traditional and digital media strategies / trends, demand territories and occasions, and brand perceptions.

- General Brand Management:

  • Strategic Planning: Support Brand lead on planning process & execution of breakthrough consumer centric programs.
  • Partner with the agencies and cross functional teams (Consumer Insights, Finance, BP&A, Innovation Hub, Marketing Accelerator, E-Commerce, Channel Teams, Field Sales Teams) to drive the communication strategy and vision through the line media to shelf, for retail programs, while helping to develop platforms/executions that maximize business results.
  • Brand Communications: Support the Creative Content Manager in coordinating the creation of brand assets (ATL and BTL) for always-on and key campaign periods.
  • Innovation: Partner with Innovation Hub to support the development & launch of Jameson’s innovation pipeline.
  • Research: Collaborate with Consumer Insights team on research programs to ensure marketing programs/expenditures meet KPIs. Consistently seek to improve the existing programming.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Lead the analysis and reporting of market and competitor trends to identify salient business. issues/opportunities, working with divisional sales/marketing teams as necessary.
  • Track business performance including weekly & monthly updates including sell-in, sell-out, shopper and marketing highlights to inform future planning.
  • Support financial accountability and ROI analysis through management of vendor purchase orders and A&P budget tracking.

  • Must be able to influence teams effectively, ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and executive presentation skills.

- Nature & Scope:

  • Position works with members of the central marketing department, divisional marketing, sales management, agency services agency personnel, as well as various vendor and provider representatives. Additionally, this role requires strong project management skills.

Required Skills/Competencies

  • 3+ years of marketing experience; experience in strategy/brand development, including brand positioning and brand building activities (digital/social and retail).
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative mindset. Flexible and able to work with agility.
  • Ability to understand financial / business / analytical acumen. Must be proficient in excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management.
  • Thoroughness, creativity, interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Proficiencies in problem solving and the ability to multitask are requirements.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and executive presentation skills; spirits industry experience not required.

- Education:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing; MBA preferred.   

Approximately 25% travel to field locations
