Role Summary/Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead and define the critical capabilities required of the Synchrony Pay Later loan product to drive growth and scalability within the Health & Wellness, Home & Auto, and Lifestyle business segments. The ideal candidate will be adept at quickly understanding a variety of technologies, possess a strong product management background with a focus on digital payment products, merchant/provider experience, market research, and have a proven track record of delivering strategic, multi-platform programs on time and within budget.
This individual will be responsible for working with cross functional product, technology, sales, and commercialization teams to define, design, and prioritize how new and existing loan capabilities are incorporated into Synchrony’s point of sale channels, ultimately enabling our 250K+ merchant and provider base to offer loans seamlessly within their business operations.
The role will require a deep understanding of the existing merchant point of sale channels (Provider Center, Business Center, and Business Center Transact) and partner with platform leaders and key clients to design and implement customer centric apply and buy experiences to support Synchrony's growing loan product, Pay Later. In addition this role will require a deep understanding of market and industry needs, offerings and capabilities available from competitors, and overall financial product savviness.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver product vision, strategy, roadmap and ultimately prioritization of a new features in concert with complementary and dependent point of sale channels
- Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to define new and upcoming features and capabilities required of the Pay Later loan product
- Utilize market research and insights to identify new features and capabilities to be incorporated into the Pay Later roadmap
- Partner with Enterprise product and technology teams to define, design, and build new features and capabilities to drive scale and growth of the product across Health & Wellness, Home & Auto, and Lifestyle platforms.
- Establish a deep understanding of existing Pay Later product capabilities and determine how new Enterprise features and capabilities should be incorporated back into our merchant point of sale channels
- Implement and manage high quality, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions to simplify and automate digital customer journey
- Aggregate feedback from clients, consumers and internal teams to form recommendations on future capabilities and services
- Provide regular updates to Senior Leaders and partner with go to market team to develop product marketing strategy and materials
- Build a strong cross-functional network and foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school equivalent and 11+ years experience in product management, sales, or marketing in credit or financial services industries.
- 7+ years of product management or product relevant experience; including 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing complex, cross-functional programs.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence senior executives in a matrixed environment.
- Experience working in SAFe Agile frameworks or similar agile methodologies.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.

- Demonstrated thought leadership coupled with strong communication skills and ability to help teams connect the dots on new ideas, processes and strategy
- Ability to leverage technology to create new processes and drive efficiency gains
- Proven track record of delivering results; must be process and detail oriented, capable of handling large workloads through multi-tasking
- Demonstrated strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills at multiple levels of organization
- Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
