Business Development & Sales

Personally lead business development efforts with biotech and pharma clients, from prospecting through contract closure.Manage and grow a lean sales team, setting clear goals, providing mentorship, and supporting deal execution.Develop strong, trust-based relationships with clients to secure repeat business and long-term partnerships.Actively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and alignment with site operations. Lead or directly participate in contract negotiations, ensuring both client satisfaction and company profitability.Partner closely with operations, project management, and technical teams to ensure smooth program transfer and delivery.Market & Marketing StrategyDevelop and refine the division’s value proposition and messaging for differentiation in the CDMO market.Oversee marketing activities, including conference participation, digital campaigns, promotional materials, and website content.Stay current on market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to identify new opportunities.Build visibility for the division by participating in industry events, networking, and thought leadership.

Leadership & Strategic Impact

Drive collaboration between commercial teams to develop a single, cohesive Agilent Advanced Therapeutics commercial team. Work closely with Agilent Sales and Marketing teams to drive “One Agilent” client experience. Connect with Agilent core commercial teams to drive cross-selling and collaboration between groups.Act as a key member of the leadership team, helping shape overall business strategy, growth plans, and investment decisions.Actively participating in mergers and acquisitions to grow the division inorganically. Provide transparent reporting on pipeline development, sales performance, and market intelligence to the VP/GM Agilent Advanced Therapeutics. Foster a collaborative, client-focused culture within the commercial team and across the company.Help identify opportunities to expand service offerings in alignment with customer needs and company capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or related field. Master’s in business administration required
  • 10+ years of commercial experience in pharma or pharma services sector, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role(s)
  • Proven ability to personally close deals and build strong client relationships at the executive level
  • Experience managing large P&L
  • Track record of successfully building and managing sales pipelines in small-to-mid-size organizations
  • Strong knowledge of drug development, manufacturing processes, and outsourcing dynamics
  • Skilled negotiator with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a growth-focused, resource-constrained environment
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet clients and represent the company at industry events

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least October 1, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $268,000.00 - $418,750.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
