About The Role
- Perform laboratory testing and allocated tasks with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of results across designated disciplines.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, manage supplies, and monitor quality control performance to uphold reliable diagnostic standards.
- Report critical and urgent results promptly to clinicians and locations, supporting safe and effective patient care.
- Work collaboratively within the team, consulting with supervisors or senior staff where appropriate, and contributing to a safe, efficient workplace.
- Engage in professional development through education sessions, unit and SydPath meetings, and actively contribute to quality system maintenance and improvement.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualification in pathology or medical laboratory operations (or equivalent), with subjects aligned to the discipline and laboratory practice.
- Practical knowledge and experience in pathology service delivery, including Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work flexibly and efficiently across varied shifts.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to supporting clinicians, patients, and laboratory staff.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and analytical ability, with a commitment to continuous quality improvement and safe laboratory practices.
