Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Delivery Lead in Transformation and Customer Operations is a key role providing leadership of one of more approved Enterprise Change initiatives or workstreams within one of our Critical Transformation Programmes. The role is to manage enterprise-wide initiative/s within a Programme of work that deliver business and/or technology solutions enabling Westpac to achieve its strategic goals, business benefits and outcomes.
- Project Planning and Execution. Managing enterprise-wide initiatives within agreed scope, time, cost and quality from initial identification, refinement of the requirements, scope and solution design, to delivery of change and embedding in the business and IT ensuring alignment with wider delivery plans and priorities.
- Delivery Framework and Governance. Ensuring initiatives adhere to all internal policies and standards, reporting meets Transformation Office requirements and maintaining compliant initiative governance and reporting management.
- Stakeholder Communication and Engagement. Working with internal business and project stakeholders, vendors and third parties to ensure successful delivery of projects and ensure open and frequent lines of visibility to stakeholders.
- Resource Management. Ensuring initiatives are resourced correctly, sponsors are engaged and aware of progress and all risks to delivery are identified and managed.
- Risk and Issue Management. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues to minimise impact on initiative delivery and outcomes. Develop risk management strategies and monitor and escalate to Programme Manager, Portfolio Director as necessary.
- Financial Management. Manage initiative budget and forecasting and ensure financial accountability and transparency.
- Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of role and as required by Programme Management.

- Strong understanding of Project Management lifecycle and experience applying to practical situations
- Demonstrated ability to identify complex risks, lead project reviews and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Good understanding of Agile methodology and ability to breakdown scope into epics, stories and prioritise effectively.
- Leading complex business and technical change projects in a corporate environment.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management and communication skills
Cards Programme (Consumer Or Commercial):
- Lead delivery of new features for Mastercard credit cards (consumer) or corporate card solutions (commercial).
- Collaborate with both technical and business teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Drive end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Preferably bring prior experience in cards.
Lending Transformation:
- Support the transformation of the consumer lending journey, with a focus on improving customer experience and operational processes.
- Leverage experience in fintech or banking lending to guide delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with programme managers and technical teams to ensure successful execution.
Business Lending Pricing:
- Lead the delivery of pricing tooling and engineering for business lending products.
- Engage with data squads and technical teams to implement pricing solutions, including potential third-party vendor integration.
- Interface with business stakeholders to ensure pricing tools meet customer and regulatory needs.
- Manage vendor relationships and support technical implementation.
- Banking experience preferred, especially in pricing or lending.
