Principal Data Scientist

Position Purpose
The Principal Data Scientist is a strategic leader responsible for driving the design and development of AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning (AI/DS/ML) solutions that power complex business systems. This role is a key thought leader and mentor, guiding the data science team's architecture and roadmaps. The Principal Data Scientist will own the collaboration with engineering, data engineering, platform, and product teams to ensure successful product rollouts, and will partner with functional leaders to influence decision-making through data-driven insights. This position demands technical excellence in MLOps and the ability to translate complex models into tangible business value.

• Key Responsibilities
• •    Drive design and development AI/DS/ML solutions to power complex business systems.
• •    Drive technical excellence in MLops.
• •    Serve as a thought leader in AI/ML, mentoring junior staff and guiding data science architecture and roadmaps.
• •    Own the collaboration with engineering, data engineering, platform and product teams to ensure successful DS/ML/AI product roll out.
• •    Partner with functional leaders to influence decision-making through data driven insights.
• Direct Manager/Direct Reports
• •    The Principal Data Scientist reports to the Head of Data Science
• Minimum Qualifications
• •    Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, or 10+ years of experience with a proven track record of building scalable AI/ML systems.
• •    Demonstrated mastery of a wide range of AI/ML models and MLOps principles.
• •    Strong executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate complex models into business impact.
• •    Proven experience in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
• Preferred Qualifications
• •    Leadership experience in DS/AI/ML/Optimization implementation within an enterprise ecosystem.
• •    Experience leading data science teams and managing cross-functional programs.
• •    Experience with the regulatory and ethical considerations of ML/AI deployment.
• •    Demonstrated ability to align data science initiatives with business KPIs.
