A Day In The Life

As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team, you will collaborate with R&D to refine product designs, ensuring functionality, performance, and manufacturability. You will ensure the product meets customer expectations while being feasible to manufacture. This requires involvement in process development activities to bridge the gap between design and production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaboration with design teams to develop and refine product specifications.
  • Provide insights into how product design choices impact process performance.
  • Oversee the prototyping phase to test both the product design and the feasibility of manufacturing processes.
  • Develop early-stage assembly processes.
  • Create draft process work instructions.
  • Conduct testing to ensure product reliability and functionality.
  • Develop and validate test methods.
  • Lead Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM). Ensure that product designs are optimized for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Process Development Engineers to align product designs with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing issues related to the product.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of experience OR
  • Advanced Degree with 2 years of experience

Nice to Have: Preferred Requirements

  • Previous medical device experience.
  • Previous catheter-based device manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking experience
  • Solid oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Solid understanding of statistical techniques and analysis 
  • Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) experience.
  • Design for Experiments (DOE) experience
  • Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Test Method Validation experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$106,400.00 - $159,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
