The person in this role will work from the Medtronic facility located in Fridley, Minnesota (U.S. Operational Headquarters) or Mounds View, Minnesota.

The Global Pricing and Contracting IT team, partners with several of the largest functions in our organization, including our commercial pricing & contracting teams to build and grow systems to leapfrog the competition using rapidly evolving artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to set customer prices and create effective contracts. Our work matters because it is the insights gained from our systems that unlock Medtronic’s ability to maximize revenue and grow market share through effective pricing & contracting strategy. The Global TOSCA Test Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of automated testing strategies using the Tosca platform to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior testers internal and external vendors’ resources, and drive continuous improvement in testing practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, a deep understanding of Tosca, and excellent leadership and communication skills. You will keenly understand business needs to automate the repetitive test cases using TOSCA, using your analysis skills to advocate for automating testing solutions that drive incremental value for customers and patients. You will participate in the entire solution delivery lifecycle, with specific focus and ownership to set up and lead test engineering function.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring a clear understanding of testing solutions, automation strategies, and how testing outcomes drive decision-making and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to recommend and implement end-to-end testing processes, including requirements gathering, test planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Lead and actively participate in agile ceremonies, driving the definition and refinement of testing strategies, team norms, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate requirements analysis to identify testing needs; document current testing processes, data flows, and contribute to designing optimized future testing frameworks.
  • Translate business requirements into comprehensive test strategies, including automation frameworks and test cases, ensuring alignment with technical specifications.
  • Define, document, and coordinate all testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Advise stakeholders on best practices for test automation, performance testing, and risk-based testing approaches while balancing technical feasibility, effort, and impact.
  • Analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and present solutions in clear and actionable testing workflows and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness through automation and process improvement; define and implement optimized test practices.
  • Build strong knowledge of Medtronic’s products, systems, and testing environments to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Provide clear and proactive communication to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on testing progress, risks, and results while driving collaboration toward shared goals.
  • Defines, describes, diagrams and documents the role and interaction of the high-level technological and human components that combine to provide cost effective and innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Promotes, guides and governs good architectural practice through the application of well-defined, proven technology and human interaction patterns and through architecture mentorship.
  • Supports the full lifecycle management of the entire IT portfolio including the selection, appropriate usage, enhancement and replacement of information technology applications, infrastructure and services.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strongly Preferred:
  • Experience working within agile methodologies, contributing to iterative testing cycles and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and improve testing processes and frameworks for enhanced efficiency and coverage
  • Proven ability to solicit clear testing requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver accurate, reliable automation solutions
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity, assess testing opportunities, and define automated solutions effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to suit different audiences and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely delivery of testing milestones and quality standards
  • Strong understanding of system design, development lifecycles, and their integration with comprehensive testing processes
  • Proven experience implementing automation technologies, with a focus on testing solutions in areas such as Pricing, Quoting, and Contracting
  • Hands-on involvement in at least two large-scale Quote-to-Cash transformation projects, with a focus on ensuring robust testing frameworks and quality assurance throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Quote-to-Cash software and IT SDLC lifecycle, with preference given to candidates with technical expertise in testing suite including ALM, TOSCA, Loadrunner, Selenium and testing automation tools
  • Ability to analyze and interpret E2E business process flows, sequence diagrams, and pseudo-code to support test strategy development and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Solid experience in developing and validating Quote-to-Cash business processes, including creating use cases, swim lane diagrams, story cards, and value stream maps from a testing and quality assurance perspective
  • Understanding of infrastructure and network configurations across multiple SaaS products to ensure seamless integration and testing of cloud-based solutions

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$152,800.00 - $229,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
