Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using appropriate test instruments and circuit diagrams.
  • Maintain and repair electrical/electronic/electromechanical system as related to plant/production and facility equipment.
  • Install electrical conduit and insert wires to terminate two and three phase circuits for 120 Vac to 600 Vac.
  • Ability to apply latest electrical codes, guild lines and regulation to electrical task.
  • Follow all safety precautions and procedures, along with wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure that all equipment is safe before releasing to production.
  • Ability to do simple fabrication of electromechanical components using machine shop equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant/production and facility equipment as per procedures.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings related to plant/production and facility equipment installations.
  • Read electrical and electronic schematics as well as basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Install, replace and repair all electrical wiring and related components/devices.
  • Ability to trouble shoot PLC controlled equipment.
  • Assist in ESA/CSA inspections.
  • Assist with Infrared scans of plant/production and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate and lead outside contractors in electrical construction projects.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • Ontario electrician license 309A (Industrial Electricians License 442 would be beneficial).
  • Completion of an Ontario electrical apprenticeship preferable.

Experience

  • 3– 5 years industrial experience.
  • Familiarity with arc flash guide-lines and regulations.
  • Demonstrated trouble shooting skills and the ability to read schematics.
  • Ability work under pressure and adapt easily to time constraints as required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Understand safety procedures and operate accordingly.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the most update electrical code.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems (pneumatics, pumps, valves, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical switchgear and substation operation.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Forklift certification and Working at Heights Certification would be preferred.
