WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
The Lead Location People Business Partner for the India site, is a key strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people strategies with organizational and location goals to drive success. This role is responsible for driving local People-related initiatives and providing guidance to business leaders on all people-related topics such as engagement and Performance Management. The Lead Location People Business Partner plays a pivotal role in ensuring a compliant work environment by monitoring and implementing local legislative changes, supporting Health & Safety prevention and procedures, and implementing global compliance updates. This role typically requires 5+ years of experience in people business partnering, employee relations, or related People roles.
Working with a degree of autonomy, the Lead Partner supports cross-functional collaboration, drives projects with minimum guidance, influences stakeholders, and ensures the successful localization and execution of People & Culture (P&C) strategies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Reporting directly into the Head of APAC Business Partners
- Providing People advice and guidance to business leaders on people-related decision-making.
- Supporting the local implementation of people programs and initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance.
- Leading and executing P&C projects with minimum guidance.
- Collaborating with P&C teams to ensure integration of people strategies.
- Managing complex employee relations issues and coaching managers on conflict resolution, performance management, conduct, and well-being aspects.
- Monitoring and interpreting local employment legislation, ensuring compliance and ensuring proactive policy updates with support from external advisors.
- Owning the design and implementation of employee policies, ensuring alignment with local labor laws, market standards, and company standards.
- Ensuring that local compensation and benefits remain competitive with the local market
- Collaborating with brokers to manage, update, and communicate employee benefits effectively.
- Partnering with local leadership to address employee feedback and Peakon engagement survey results with actionable plans.
- Driving initiatives that promote high employee engagement and a positive workplace culture at the local level.

Change Management: Leading change management initiatives to ensure the effective implementation of organizational changes or transformations
Handling employee relations and advising managers on sensitive employee issues such as performance management or disciplinary actions. Investigating workplace conflicts or complaints.
Leading or driving P&C projects with minimum guidance, such as implementing new processes or local campaigns, or programs that promote engagement.
Collaborating and working cross-functionally with other P&C teams to coordinate activities or share insights to inform broader people strategies. Host local townhalls.
Monitoring employment law and ensuring policy compliance by reviewing and updating policies to reflect legal changes, ensuring policies meet legal and company standards, and rolling out and communicating employee policies.
Ensuring competitive and compliant compensation and benefits by benchmarking salaries and benefits against the local market, recommending adjustments to pay or benefits, and managing relationships with benefits providers and brokers.
Analyzing People data to provide insights and recommendations for local management to improve people practices or organizational effectiveness. Act on employee feedback and survey data by developing and tracking action plans to improve engagement.
Designing and facilitating workshops, such as Insights, with a focus on team building, well-being, or inclusion campaigns and initiatives, and promote company values and culture locally.
