The Opportunity
An RPA Business Analyst acts as a bridge between the business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure that automation solutions meet business needs and requirements effectively. This role involves understanding business processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and working closely with developers to implement RPA solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering and Analysis
- Engage with stakeholders: Conduct meetings with business stakeholders to gather detailed information about current processes, pain points, and automation opportunities.
- Document requirements: Create comprehensive documentation that includes process maps, use cases, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Feasibility analysis: Assess the feasibility of automating processes and prioritize them based on potential benefits and complexity.
Process Mapping And Design:
- As-Is and To-Be processes: Develop As-Is process maps to understand the current state and design To-Be process maps that incorporate automation.
- Gap analysis: Identify gaps between current processes and the desired automated state, and propose solutions to bridge these gaps.
- Process re-engineering: Suggest improvements to business processes to optimize them for automation.
Collaboration With Development Teams:
- Technical specifications: Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for the RPA development team.
- Support development: Provide continuous support to the development team, clarifying requirements and addressing any issues that arise during the development phase.
- User stories and acceptance criteria: Write user stories and define acceptance criteria for each automation process.
Testing And Validation:
- Test planning: Develop test plans and scenarios to ensure that the RPA solutions meet business requirements and perform as expected.
- UAT coordination: Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users to validate the end-to-end functionality of the automated processes.
- Issue resolution: Work with the development team to resolve any issues or bugs identified during testing.
Change Management And Training:
- Stakeholder communication: Communicate changes and benefits of automation to stakeholders and ensure they are on board with the changes.
- Training materials: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they can effectively use the new automated processes.
- Post-implementation support: Provide support to business users post-implementation to ensure smooth transition and adoption of the RPA solutions.
About You
- Degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in RPA projects
- Skilled in process analysis, requirement gathering, and documentation
- Familiar with RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
- Knowledge of SDLC, agile methodologies, and basic programming/scripting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Proficient in documentation, reporting, and presentations
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy
- Certification in Business Analyst or RPA Business Analyst (desired)
