The Supervisor, Distribution Center (2nd shift) is responsible for ensuring optimal productivity and cost efficiency in service delivery to C.H. Robinson branch customers. This role oversees daily warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, production, inventory, quality control, maintenance, and sanitation. The supervisor manages team leads and their crews in a temperature-controlled environment (down to 35°F).
Please note that the schedule for this role is Monday to Thursday 11AM to 8PM and Sunday from 8AM to 5PM.
Duties And Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee all inbound and outbound freight operations, including PMCs (Palletized Master Container), loose cargo, charters, and Air Import transfers.
- Support Air and Ocean departments; lead Sunday and holiday operations.
- Manage staffing schedules to optimize coverage and minimize overtime.
- Conduct team meetings and training to reinforce SOPs, safety, and company values.
- Promote a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement aligned with the Distribution Center Model.
- Ensure compliance with HAACP, OSHA, Primus, and corporate sanitation standards.
- Maintain facility equipment and review maintenance schedules.
- Execute and improve Shipping division processes through SOP analysis and metrics.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate documentation and consistent execution.
- Create and analyze reports using Excel and Power BI; manage billing and trend analysis.
- Monitor operational performance across receiving, shipping, inventory, and production.
- Track supplies and materials to support daily operations.
- Ensure customer service metrics are met or exceeded.
Team Leadership:
- Lead warehouse teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and professional operations.
- Maintain staffing levels, oversee training, and provide timely performance feedback.
- Foster a safe, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
- Handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
- Participate in recruitment, promotion, and talent alignment.
- Support merit and equity programs to align compensation with performance.
- Set clear expectations, coach in real time, and provide development opportunities.
- Encourage open feedback and work with leadership to act on input and build trust.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, and/or manufacturing operations environment
- Minimum 1 year of direct people leadership experience.
- Knowledge of efficient and safe warehousing practices
- Working knowledge of standard computer systems and software tools.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work all day in a temperature-controlled environment (as low as 35 degrees)
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to effectively communicate information and/or instructions
- Delivers detail oriented, accurate and organized results under pressure
- Demonstrates the desire to operate in an entrepreneurial, multi-task environment

Compensation Range
$57,100.00 - $89,100.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
