This role is in the Takeda Japan Innovation Center (TJIC), as part of the global network of Innovation Capability Centers (ICCs). Our ICCs focus on delivering digital solutions across Takeda and building our internal digital capabilities to ensure we are future-ready. 
 
TJIC collaborates with the global ICCs to supports our Japan based business units and functions with cutting-edge technologies such as AI and big data. As a TJIC member, you will work closely with Japan-based business units and functions while regularly collaborating with colleagues in global ICCs to exchange knowledge and drive innovation.

The Opportunity:

As an AI Engineer focused on LLM’s you will lead the development and implementation of AI and large language model (LLM) proof of concepts and systems that support business objectives and drive innovation. You’ll be at the forefront of AI development, leveraging automation and optimizing resources to deliver robust, cutting-edge solutions that align with Takeda’s global mission. This role empowers you to apply your technical expertise and innovative mindset in a collaborative environment, driving progress and innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead projects and operations related to AI/LLM proof of concept and system development, achieving outcomes within agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards, with a focus on scalability and integration with existing platforms. 
• Improve the efficiency of AI/LLM system development, testing, and documentation by leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot and other cutting-edge AI tools, as well as developing custom AI solutions when necessary. 
• Work closely with business stakeholders and IT/data teams to identify challenges in data and AI utilization, proactively designing, implementing, and delivering solutions to drive the digitalization of business processes. 
• Contribute to raising the company’s overall technical level by sharing the best practices gained from data and AI initiatives with other teams and departments.

• Github Co-Pilotやその他最新Aiツールを活用するとともに必要に応じて自らカスタムAiソリューションを構築することで、Ai/Llmシステム開発やテスト、ドキュメント作成の効率化を図ります。

• ビジネスステークホルダーやIt・データチームと密に連携しながらデータ・Ai活用の課題を特定し、課題解決のためのソリューションをプロアクティブに考案・実装・提供することで、ビジネスプロセスのデジタライゼーションをリードします。

• データ・Ai活用の取り組みを通じて得られたベストプラクティスを他チーム・他部門に向けて発信することで、全社の技術レベル向上に貢献します

Skills & Qualifications :

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field. (preferred: Master’s Degree or PhD) 
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML/data science 
• 1+ years of experience in AI/LLM system development and deployment in production environments. (Preferred knowledge: AWS, Databricks, GitHub) 
• Understanding relevant machine learning models, statistical models, algorithms and the underlying mathematics to be able to train, fine tune models and select the right model for the problem 
• Always keeping up with the latest information on generative AI/agentic AI 
• Experience in developing machine learning models in cloud environments (such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure,etc.) 
• The ability and experience to independently identify business challenges that can enhance business value and improve efficiency through AI utilization, by communicating with stakeholders, and to independently devise AI solutions to address those challenges 
• Relevant programming skills, likely Python and SQL 
• Japanese language skill: JLPT N2+ 
• Business level English skill 
• Preferred programming skills: Python, SQL, Typescript. 
• Domain knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry 
• Experience with ETL engineering and databases for data transformations 
• Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or other relevant process and productivity tools

• ステークホルダーとのコミュニケーションを通じて、ビジネス価値を向上させ効率を改善できるビジネス課題を独自に特定し、それを解決するAiソリューションを独自に考案できる能力と経験

• 関連するプログラミングスキル、主にPython, Sql.

• 日本語能力：日本語能力試験（Jlpt）N2以上
