Are you interested in helping Swedish companies reach their full international potential? We are now looking for a Consultant to join our team in China.
As an Associate or Consultant at Business Sweden in Shanghai your job will encompass a diverse range of tasks within management consulting and promotion activities. We are therefore looking for a colleague with experience within management consulting, or other functional areas (e.g. supply chain advisory) who can work together with the team in delivering consultancy assignments and promotional activities. The role also includes proactive sales activities, as well as networking and engaging with local stakeholders.
The role includes both strategic, tactical and operational responsibilities such as:
- Carry out market research that will enable clients to make strategy decisions on how to enter and/or expand in the Chinese market – both from sourcing & manufacturing and from marketing & sales perspective
- Perform data analysis to identify economic and business trends relevant for Swedish companies
- Support senior colleagues in sales dialogues, by insight-driven development of new business opportunities as well as prospecting.
- Create impactful presentations to clients’ senior management teams
- Establish local legal entities for clients
- Assist with business advice, negotiation, and interpretation in business meetings between Swedish and Chinese companies
- Work closely together with Chinese and Swedish colleagues, and report to project managers
The position is for a Chinese citizen based in Shanghai, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world, as required.

Formal Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Strategy, Marketing, Public relations, Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant experience from a consultancy firm or equivalent.
- Experience from a certain field such as for example supply chain, automation, digitalization, environmental impact assessment, engineering, biotech; or consumer/retail is a merit.
- Excellent communications skills, outgoing, sales-oriented and service minded.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solver abilities with result-oriented aims.
- “Hands-on” character, willing to learn and to do the job from start to end of a project.
- Good at creating clear and impactful presentations and reports.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the Chinese market.
- A team player but with an independent drive, outgoing and eager to learn and improve (high motivation and ambitions).
- A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English is a requirement
- Willingness to travel, both domestically and abroad.
