Scope Of Position
Watts Water Technologies, a top global provider of water solutions, seeks an experienced Applications Engineering Manager. This role involves leading the team of engineers to ensure custom product configurations are quoted to our customers timely and efficiently. The product scope includes ACVs, HVAC, floor heating, and other products that regulate flow, pressure, and temperature of water within a building. Your engineering expertise and leadership will enhance growth, efficiency, and customer experience.
This position is responsible for the supervision of the technical customer support team and quotation engineers.
This position reports to the Director of Commercial Operations.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and efficient quotation process for custom products while meeting specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, sales, and product development, to have a 24-hour response level to customers with quote requests.
- Leverage engineering knowledge to understand and configure products according to customer requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of applications engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, be able to provide technical training for customers, and address technical and business inquiries for the team.
- Work closely with the sales team during pre-sales activities to showcase the team technical and service capabilities.
- Optimize processes related to product configuration, quotation, and customer support pre- and post-sales.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Implement strategies to optimize team processes, enhancing overall efficiency, reducing lead times and improving overall customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in applications engineering, with a track record of successful project management.
- 2+ years of leadership experience and team management skills.
- Experience on product design related to water flow, pressure, and temperature, such as ACV, floor heating, and piping systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate to C-level executives.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in customer-facing roles and a strong customer-focused mindset.
- Experience with CPQ or quotations processes, concepts, tools, and technologies; SAP ideal.
- Knowledge of PowerBI and/or Excel for data analytics
- Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment.

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. You will be required to work in the office at the No. Andover location three days per week (Monday – Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday).
Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods.
- Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.

- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
