About The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Real Estate professional to join our growing national Real Estate Advisory team. Having established Real Estate Advisory teams in QLD, VIC and WA this role is based in Sydney with responsibility to lead, deliver and advise on significant projects within the Real Estate and Infrastructure space, at a Director or Partner level.
You will have the opportunity to drive the growth of BDO’s Real Estate Advisory services in NSW. It is expected that you will have significant experience working across a diverse range of real estate and infrastructure projects nationally, with the ability to win and deliver property advisory engagements and transactions in a wide range of asset classes.
Specific Skills and Experience We're Looking for:
- Experience in advising both private and government sector clients
- Established network of clients across NSW, or Australia more broadly
- Demonstrated experience in major property transactions
- Real estate market analysis, sales analysis and research
- Financial and commercial real estate advice
- Property acquisition and disposal experience
- Understanding and experience in dealing with property leases
- Navigating current planning schemes, understanding of property fundamentals and industry participants.
- Digital proficiency in commercial real estate platforms, such as Argus Estate Master, and financial modelling and analysis in excel
- Certified Practising Valuer Accreditation
- Real Estate Agency Licence
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and work as part of the team responsible for the on-time and on-budget delivery of engagements including:
- Valuation advice
- Development Feasibilities
- Acquisitions & Disposals
- Transaction management and advisory
- Strategic Real Estate Advice and Strategic Asset Management
- Financial modelling and analysis;
- Develop and implement engagement pursuit strategies, prepare proposals and manage tender processes
- Share awareness of the broader real estate market environment and industry trends across other divisions of the firm and our clients
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders, project partners and broader industry
About Project & Infrastructure Advisory
BDO’s Project & Infrastructure Advisory team are industry leaders in the planning and delivery of city and region shaping infrastructure projects and have been building out a national Real Estate Advisory offering.
We help government and corporate clients deliver, expand, or renew infrastructure that shapes our world. With around 100 specialists nationwide, we offer expertise in financial and commercial advisory, financial modelling and analysis, economics, strategy, business case development, project management, valuation, transaction management and execution.
Our Real Estate Advisory teams work with clients across a range of sectors including residential development, social and affordable housing, Built to Rent (BTR), transport, health, as well as across traditional asset classes.
About You
The successful candidate will have prior experience/exposure to general real estate projects across government and private sectors. You'll bring strong capability in delivering property valuations, real estate advisory, transactions and/or market research reports.
Combined With:
- Tertiary qualifications in either property economics or another real estate focussed degree,
- Certified Practising Valuer Accreditation (desirable)
- Real Estate Licence (desirable)
- Strong collaboration skills gained from working across multi-disciplinary teams involved in the delivery of real estate projects
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development
- A deep understanding of real estate related technical competencies and ability to interpret technical reports
- Demonstrable people leadership experience
