Role Overview

As we expand our customer deployments, we are currently seeking an experienced SRE to deliver insights from massive scale data in real time. Specifically, we are searching for someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction.
- Job Summary:
The successful candidate for this Observability Analyst position will be part of a Global Observability Team focused on providing capability to monitor performance and availability of key Chubb business applications and services
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the deployment & configuration of Dynatrace (DT) / AppDynamics (APPD) Agents to instrument and mature monitoring of Chubb applications
- Configuration of DT agents and the dashboards creation for Infra, applications, Business flows , user flows and ServiceNow integration
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of ScienceLogic (SL1) platform that provides hardware monitoring coverage for all on-prem devices
- Work with application support/development teams to create application performance dashboards for use by our business and IT partners
- Work with application support/development teams to create of application start-of-day health checks leveraging automation and testing scripts
- Work with application development team to analyze impact of application code changes and the effect to monitoring platforms. Apply the changes to the monitoring tools to update dashboards
- Work with wider Observability & SRE Teams to drive specific deliverables that support strategic portfolio aims
- Track overall application customer experience, with specific focus on service level objectives and post-change operational performance
- Integrate alerting into consolidated event correlation product and Service Desk trouble ticketing systems, CMDB
- Use diagnostic tools to capture anomalies in application performance and work with cross-functional teams to provide problem identification and improve Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR)
- Work with the Operations Center team on overall enterprise monitoring
- Participate in change and incident management
- Identifying monitoring gaps and make recommendations to resolve.
Knowledge, Skills And Competencies:
- Hands-on & deep-level experience with APM tools such as Dynatrace (DT), AppDynamics
- Minimum 2 years experience with Dynatrace(DT) , AppDynamics & monitoring technologies/capabilities
- Use of JavaScript Agents and understanding of Java and .Net technologies.
- Good understanding of Infrastructure & Networking concepts such as data flows & protocols
- Experience with Cloud Monitoring tools, preferably Azure Monitor/AppInsights
- Experience with application trace analysis or network trace analysis tools (ThousandEyes or Wireshark), AIOps and ITSM tools (ScienceLogic, ServiceNow) and log ingestion technologies (ELK)
- Experience with Application synthetic testing products such as HPE Quality Center, HPE Performance Center, Selenium & Python scripting language.
- Excellent problem determination skills, and the ability to debug complex-cross systems problems, and document root cause including remediation and detection
- Ability to work independently and on a team with colleagues across the globe
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- [X]+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
- Strong experience with any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Proficiency in Python programming and scripting languages (e.g., Go, Bash).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Good understanding of infrastructure, including operating systems, networking concepts, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools like AppDynamics, splunk.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
