- Salary Range: Hourly from $28.18 to $45.82; Annually from $53,328 to $95,672
- *Salary placement is dependent on education and experience

The Position And The Department
This role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and protecting our network infrastructure against internal and external threats ensuring access is restricted to authorized users. Network Security Specialist leads the daily activities for identity and access management, provisioning students, faculty and staff accounts for access to the Normandale network resources. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network protocols, security tools, and incident response procedures.
This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
Your Qualifications
Essential:
- Two years’ experience in an information technology environment
- Two years’ experience coordinating users and groups working with, Azure, Entra ID and M365
- Two years’ experience with IT network technology including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and IT Security concepts and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Analytical perspective with strong problem-solving skills
- Superb communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and multi-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- Three years’ experience running and administering users and groups in an Active Directory environment
- Three years’ experience and knowledge with M365, Azure, Entra AD
- Three years’ experience with IT network technology including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and IT Security concepts and procedures.
- Knowledge of the MinnState System
