The Executive Government Relations Liaison is responsible for leading the Community Engagement team in fostering relationships with community stakeholders and advancing initiatives addressing underserved populations' needs within Wayne County. This role will oversee a team of Community Engagement Liaisons, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with the Wayne County Executive's strategic objectives.
Required Tasks
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy, setting short-term and long-term goals aligned with Wayne County Executive's vision.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of Community Engagement Liaisons, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, leaders, and residents to identify needs and facilitate access to county resources.
- Program Development: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community programs that promote engagement and address community issues.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other county departments to coordinate resources and initiatives that enhance community well-being.
- Data and Reporting: Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, preparing reports for leadership to assess the impact of community initiatives.Advocacy and Representation: Represent the Community Engagement department at meetings, events, and public forums, advocating for the needs of the communities served.

- Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Community Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in community engagement, public service, or related fields, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
