About This Opportunity

This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of risk management at one of Australia’s leading universities. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will play a central role in strengthening UQ’s ability to anticipate, assess and respond to strategic and operational risks in an increasingly complex global landscape.

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk will also provide expert guidance and partner with stakeholders across the University to embed a strong culture of risk awareness, enhance governance frameworks, and ensure UQ’s long-term resilience and success. Your work will span the full risk lifecycle – from scanning emerging threats and opportunities, to designing robust systems and controls, to delivering high-level reporting and insights that directly inform executive decision-making and Senate risk oversight.

This position offers the scope to influence at the highest levels, while also driving meaningful capability uplift across the organisation. If you are a strategic thinker with proven expertise in enterprise risk and a passion for strengthening resilience in complex environments, this is an outstanding career opportunity to contribute to UQ’s impact.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of UQ’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, systems, and processes.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic guidance to senior leaders on the identification, assessment and management of strategic and operational risks.
  • Deliver tailored training, workshops and communications to strengthen organisational risk awareness and capability.
  • Analyse emerging global and sector risks, preparing high-quality reports and insights for senior executive and Senate committees.
