The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • As a Project Integrator/Coordinator for the Kennedy Space Center Command-and-Control Project Management Office, you will:
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across engineering, planning, scheduling, and control functions.
  • Facilitate integration of project elements to ensure alignment with C3 objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Track and manage interdependencies across workstreams and identify integration risks or gaps.
  • Support development and maintenance of integrated master schedules (IMS).
  • Monitor progress against key milestones and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve schedule conflicts or delays.
  • Assist in preparation of schedule status reports and briefings for leadership.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication across internal teams and external partners.
  • Support preparation of project documentation, presentations, and status updates for senior leadership and program boards.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO processes, standards, and templates.
  • Support Excellence by continuously looking for ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and drive innovation.
  • Additional Responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support organizational and project objectives.

Here'S What You'Ll Need:

 

Qualifications – External

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution; at least four years of experience.

Depending on the candidate’s experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex, multi-disciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with NASA project lifecycle, systems engineering processes, and configuration/data management practices is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI is a bonus.
  • - Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent scheduling software.
  • - Strong understanding of Project Management principles, CMMI, VersionOne, and software change management processes (preferred).
  • - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present technical and programmatic information clearly.
  • - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • - Experience facilitating meetings, tracking action items, and maintaining project documentation.
  • - PMP or similar project management certification is a plus but not required.
  • - U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.

Work Environment

  • May be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
  • Position may require individual to travel daily to different areas on site.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, may be required to access various locations on the facility.
  • Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

Attendance

  • Full-time work hours.
  • Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on task.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Shift work may be required.

Other Essential Functions

  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
