The Defenders is part of the JLD and responsible for corporate insurance, claims, fleet management, and teammate safety. We identify and evaluate risks to the Village, utilizing innovation and cost-effective tools to balance risks and opportunities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Risk Analyst to support our teammate safety and corporate insurance program. This role will play a critical part in analyzing safety metrics, incident trends, and regulatory compliance, while also assisting with insurance placements, underwriting submissions, and Villagewide risk mitigation efforts.
Reporting
- Assist with analyzing injury trends and metrics, including in depth root cause analysis.
- Analyze and evaluate training needs and assess the effectiveness of training programs.
Strategy and Program Development
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies by working in collaboration with other departments including Workers Compensation and Clinical Education.
- Drive a “safety first” culture across the team and organization as a whole.
- Partner with Legal, Risk and Clinical Education teams to develop programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment.
Compliance And Investigations
- Assist with any OSHA complaints and/or citations and ensure responses are appropriate and sent in a timely manner.
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures to regulations, best practices, and corporate policy.
Underwriting Support
- Collect and validate data required for insurance renewal submissions and applications.
- Prepare materials for broker and underwriter meetings.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with brokers and underwriters.
Contract Review
- Review insurance provisions in vendor and lease agreements.
- Identify potential gaps and recommend revisions to align with corporate insurance program standards.
- Provide redline guidance to internal stakeholders and escalate complex issues as needed.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with projects on other affiliated risk management lanes, as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
- Travel required: up to 5%
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training sessions
- Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, business, insurance, risk management, or related area preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in safety, risk, insurance, or related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated problem solving ability and a high level of detail orientation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools preferred
