Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
- 3 years progressive experience in healthcare related field with focus on Revenue Cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, and or healthcare administration.
- Professional project management/facilitator experience with successful outcomes
Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Analyst serves as a valued team member that analyzes complex data to provide strategic direction, improve operational efficiency to leadership in the delivery of all hospital and physician revenue cycle related services including, but not limited to, patient access, coding, revenue integrity/charge capture, revenue cycle billing and collection analytics, denials and departmental AR management.
Essential Job Functions
- Define and document revenue cycle data sources of truth and data definitions per project
- Accesses databases to provide analytical support and reporting to revenue cycle teams and/or initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standards to measure the effectiveness of all aspects of the revenue cycle, including statistical data for monthly reports (denial reports, late charge reports) to identify trends and inefficiencies.
- Keeps appraised of rules and regulations affecting reimbursement and revenue cycle.
- Works with management on all Access/Revenue Cycle initiatives such as meaningful use of the EHR, telemedicine projects.
- Assists leadership in developing roadmaps for all applications in the revenue cycle solutions portfolio.
- Documents and determine business requirements, business processes, output requirements and technical feasibility of new or existing solutions within the revenue cycle solutions portfolio.
- Develops testing scenarios and documents outcomes for all solutions within the revenue cycle portfolio.
- Summarizes data and provides direct commentary or insight into data results.
- Formally present data and information for analysis.
- Works and communicates with vendors and internal customers to create data extract files.
- Engages in decision making support by providing analysis of data based on user inquiries.
- Create predictive models for proactive decision support.
- Develop and deploy reports and provide support for self-service analysis.
- Ability to perform a Root Cause Analysis based on identified opportunities.
Marginal Or Periodic Functions:
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient with SQL programing skills, Epic Slicer Dicer, Microsoft Excel Pivot tables, Access and/or Crystal Reports.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Ability to influence change and move to best and efficient practices.
- Clear understanding or insurance reimbursement, claims, font-end collections, and cash management.
- Creates and cultivates culture of analysis, trends, issues, risk and resolution tracking with team and customers to identify patterns and appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Requires detail-oriented thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.

Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience or range if discussed and approved by the hiring authority.
