Our company is seeking an experienced and
detail-oriented Occupational Hygienist to join our mining projects team. If you

Key Responsibilities:
- Health Hazard Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations to identify potential health hazards (e.g., dust, noise, chemicals) associated with construction and commissioning activities.
- Inspections & Audits: Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as internal standards.
- Program Development: Create and implement occupational health and safety programs tailored to the specific needs of each project.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
- Exposure Monitoring: Use appropriate sampling and analytical techniques to monitor exposure levels to hazardous substances, including air and noise.
- Risk Assessment & Corrective Actions: Analyse environmental samples to assess risks and recommend effective corrective measures.
- Training & Awareness: Provide training to project staff on occupational health risks, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures. Develop educational materials and lead workshops to enhance compliance.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate health-related incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and propose preventive measures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans for health hazards and participate in emergency drills.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of health and safety inspections, exposure monitoring, training, and incidents. Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CIH, ROH) are a plus.
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience in the mining industry, particularly in mineral processing.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
- Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of any of the following languages is advantageous: German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Thai, Indonesian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Malay.
